Aviation developmentBudapest Airport sweeps independent satisfaction surveyPassengers’ opinions of services at Budapest Airport have improved significantly. This is the conclusion from an independent survey analyzing services at airports throughout the world, conducted by Airports Council International (ACI). Budapest Airport attributes the jump in quality primarily to two factors, the recent trainings of airport staff and the opening of the bud:skycourt at Terminal 2. Seamless transfer in BudapestBudapest Airport has opened the fifth and sixth passenger screening lane on the transfer corridor at Terminal 2B. Thus, non-Schengen passengers transferring in Budapest will be able to enter the transit area even faster and with greater comfort than before. Budapest Airport Aviation marketingBudapest Airport breaks more records in JulyBudapest Airport is keeping up the excellent performance seen in recent months in terms of passenger traffic and service quality. In July 2011, the airport handled more than 950 000 arriving and departing passengers. This is the strongest ever July on record, taking the total number of passengers this year to nearly 5 million. See you in London!After Gothenburg and Cagliari, Budapest Airport will soon travel to London to participate in the World Low Cost Airline Congress on 19-21 September, as the venue for one of the most important conferences for the low cost segment this year is the spectacular Sofitel London Heathrow hotel. Summer PassengersApart from Consumer marketing, Aviation marketing also prepared a special summer campaign for the summer season this year: “Brace yourself for adventures”. Aviation newsQatar Airways to go direct and daily on Budapest-Doha from SeptemberQatar Airways will begin to operate direct flights to Doha from the airport, on an expanded daily frequency, effective 14 September. The direct route will be dropping the existing stop over in Bucharest, Romania. The new schedule is a terrific enhancement to the initial three times weekly schedule which commenced on 17 January. New cargo flight from IstanbulA new cargo flight will commence operation to Budapest Airport as of mid-July. In addition to its passenger routes, Turkish Airlines has decided to launch a cargo flight to Budapest. Budapest Airport enjoys a busy Hungarian Grand PrixAs McLaren’s Jenson Button emerged the victor at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest on Sunday July 31st, Budapest Airport was busy handling increased passenger numbers as well taking care of some of the Formula One VIP’s themselves.

Airport servicesBrand new Celebi Lounge
The new Celebi Platinum Lounge opened at Terminal 2A on Monday 8 August. A new premium service has appeared at the airport as a result of the joint investment by Budapest Airport and the Turkish ground handling company. New Malév Crew Center handed over
The brand new Crew Center (a base for flight attendants and pilots) has been completed to deadline and was handed over to Malév on Friday by Budapest Airport’s business unit Property, in wing F of Terminal 2A. Budapest Airport up in flames!
The silence at Budapest Airport was shattered by the noise of explosions and real kerosene fires, albeit for a short while, from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. on 28 July 2011. Hungarian corner at the SkyCourtThe shops at the bud:skycourt have already offered passengers a wide range of products, but from 1 September, the marketing team of the Business Unit Consumers will place even greater emphasis on Hungarian products. New Welcome Sign on ATC TowerAfter the conclusion of our EU presidency, the sign greeting official European guests has been removed, and Budapest Airport welcomes summer visitors with a new sign and its new corporate branding. |
